Loan Report – 2nd October 2021
Here’s a look back at how our loanees got on across the weekend.
Joel Nouble & Harrison Clark – Arbroath
Neither Joel or Harrison featured for Arbroath yesterday as the Red Lichties came from behind to draw 2-2 away to Greenock Morton. Harrison was an unused sub whilst Joel wasn’t in the match day 18 at all.
With Kilmarnock and Inverness both losing, that point moves Arbroath to within 1 point of second and 4 points of top.
Gavin Reilly – Greenock Morton
Gavin started for Morton in that same against Arbroath and played the full 90 minutes. The point would have been welcomed however, with Hamilton winning against league leaders Inverness, the Greenock side drop to 9th place.
Matej Poplatnik – Raith Rovers
Matej was the hero for Raith Rovers yesterday, coming off the bench on the 72nd minute to score twice in the final 10 minutes to seal a brilliant 3-1 win for the Starks Park men away to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. Raith had lead at the break before Kiltie equalised with a quarter of an hour left but Matej’s double moved Raith into the play-off places in fourth.
Josh Mullin – Hamilton Academical
Josh Mullin played 90 minutes as Hamilton recorded a fantastic 2-1 at home to league leaders Inverness CT. Goals from Lewis Smith and Andy Ryan in the opening 25 minutes had Accies coasting before Reegan Mimnaugh was sent off on the half hour mark, swinging momentum some what. However, Accies remained resilient and despite a goal from Michael Gardyne deep into stoppage time, Josh and his team mates held out for an important 3 points to lift them into 8th place.
Carlo Pignatiello – Dumbarton
It was a tough afternoon for Carlo and Dumbarton who went down 5-0 away to Peterhead, with Carlo playing the full 90. The hosts lead 1-0 at the break but an impressive second half showing saw the Blue Toon run out comfortable winners.
Brian Schwake – Edinburgh City
Brian continued to keep his place between the sticks for Edinburgh City on Friday night and looked on course for another clean sheet with the Citizens 1-0 up from an early Danny Handling goal however, a late strike from Kris Renton meant a share of the spoils.
