Lucas swaps Bo’ness for Bonnyrigg
We can confirm that youngster Lucas Stenhouse has been recalled from his loan spell at Bo’ness United and will spend the second half of the season at William Hill League 2 side Bonnyrigg Rose.
Lucas spent the first-half of last season on loan at Newtown Park before an injury just after Christmas 2023 saw him ruled out for the rest of the campaign.
Having successfully come through an operation and rehabilitation in the Summer, the 19-year-old rejoined Bo’ness and continued his brilliant form into this season. Resultantly, this led to interest from a number of clubs in League 2, with Lucas now heading to New Dundas Park to join up with the Rose for the remainder of the campaign.
First-team manager David Martindale said: “Firstly, I’d like to thank Bo’ness United for the time and effort they’ve invested into Lucas over the last two seasons – his progression has been great and they deserve a lot of credit for that too, alongside Lucas himself.
“This move allows Lucas to move up the pyramid into League 2, and a new challenge with Bonnyrigg Rose. He’ll need to go and prove himself again to get into the starting line-up but it’s an opportunity to continue his development and one I’m sure Lucas will relish.
“It’s great to see another player from the academy continue to progress their journey and I’ve no doubt Lucas will kick on again over the rest of this season.”
We’d like to thank Bo’ness United for looking after Lucas so well and wish them every success for the remainder of their campaign.
Good luck at Bonnyrigg, Lucas!
