Morton match preview
This Saturday, we will be travelling to Cappielow Park to face Greenock Morton in the league, for a 2nd vs 8th encounter. Both teams come into this game from different perspectives after last week’s cup action. We secured a win against Brora Rangers to progress into the next round, Greenock Morton suffered a 2-0 defeat to Ayr United. We return to league action this weekend.
We have been on a good run of form of late and have managed to overcome some challenging opponents and now we are back on the road for a tricky test. We are looking to maintain our decent away form in the league and in our last five matches we have had four wins and one draw. We are coming off a 2-0 win at home against Brora Rangers in the Scottish Cup.
Greenock Morton come into this game after an away defeat, with 1 win, 1 draw and 3 losses in their last five games. They have scored 5 goals in their last 5 games but haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 7 matches.
A player who has impressed recently is Reece McAlear who won our Specialized Signs Player of the Month for November special and will be looking to continue his great form. Another key player will be Tete Yengi who has had a recent upturn in form, netting again against Brora Rangers last weekend.
In the last five meetings between the two sides, Livingston have slightly had the upper hand slightly by winning 2 of the 5 games and suffering just 1 defeat. Our previous fixture against Morton in the league saw us concede a late equalizer from the penalty spot to draw the match 1-1. However, we recently recorded a 2-1-win at home in the SPFL Trust Trophy last month. We are currently ranked 2nd away from home in the league, and we have scored 9 goals in our last 5 matches so we will be looking to maintain that goalscoring run.
