Neil Alexander returns
Sixteen years since his last outing in a Livi shirt, goalkeeper Neil Alexander returns to the Tony Macaroni Arena as David Hopkin’s latest signing.
A clearly delighted Hopkin told us “we have been chasing Neil for close to 2 months now, hence the reason why we have had 3 keepers between the sticks during our 2 previous friendlies, and only 1 being a registered player.
“Neil will be fantastic for us, of that I have no doubt. He brings a wealth of experience to the team, having won previous league titles with Hearts and Rangers, with the added bonus of a European Cup Final during his time at Ibrox.
“He has also represented his country on 3 occasions – you can’t ask for anymore experience than that. Neil is a very fit individual who has looked after himself impeccably over the years, and will be invaluable to our young squad this season. I’m delighted to have him on board, and I’m sure the fans will be just as delighted at his return.
“Again, I want to thank the board and every single fan who has put their hard earned money into the Club via season books or shares. Without them it would have been impossible to improve on last season’s squad.
“I’m really looking forward to the season ahead, and together I’m sure we can surprise a few teams this season in the Championship.”
