Next Up – Hamilton Academical
With the international break having been and gone, we’re back to Premiership action this weekend as we welcome Brian Rice and his Hamilton Accies side to The Tony Macaroni Arena for our 7th game of the season.
Accies have picked up 3 points from their opening five games with those points all coming in a 1-0 derby win against Motherwell with four defeats coming against Celtic, Ross County, St Mirren & Rangers.
That win came courtesy of a Hakeem Odoffin goal – the defender having only just arrived with Accies after leaving us here at Livingston earlier this season. We’re sure he’ll return to West Lothian on Saturday looking to impress against his former teammates.
Hamilton will be without on-loan defender Lee Hodson who has been in contact with somebody who has tested positive for COVID-19 meaning that, as per the Scottish Government’s guidelines, he now has to take the precaution of self-isolating for the next fortnight.
We go into this one having recorded our first win of the season against Ross County last time out, with Jon Guthrie’s second-half header securing all three points. A win on Saturday could see us climb into the top half of the table ahead of next weekend’s clash with champions Celtic.
Robby McCrorie returns from Scotland duty with Ciaron Brown and Anthony Stokes both having featured in a bounce game during the break as they both look to step up their fitness. Stokes joins youngster Carlo Pignatiello in awaiting his debut for the club.
Long-term absentees Alan Lithgow, Steve Lawson and Keaghan Jacobs are all likely to remain out for this one.
As mentioned before the Ross County tie, Scott Pittman’s goal against Aberdeen was his 31st for the club, drawing him level with Raffa De Vita. His next will see him go clear as top goal scorer currently at the club.
