Next Up – Hibernian
157 days since our last competitive tie here at the Tony Macaroni Arena, a 2-2 draw with Celtic, we finally welcome opposition back to West Lothian as we get for our first home game of the 2020/21 campaign against Hibernian.
The Easter Road side will make the 20 mile journey along the M8 and with Hearts dropping into the Championship, this is probably as close to a derby as the Hibees are going to get in the league this season.
Whilst we went down to a Richard Tait goal in Paisley last weekend, Hibs started the season with all three points courtesy of a Martin Boyle double securing a 2-1 win at home Kilmarnock.
With Jack Fitzwater, Alan Forrest & Salim Kouider-Aïssa all making their competitive debuts against St Mirren last weekend, they’ll be keen to feature again at home tomorrow with Max Stryjek, Carlo Pignatiello & Matej Poplatnik all yet to feature competitively for the first-team.
Scott Pittman remains one goal behind Raffa de Vita in terms of being top-scorer currently at the club so a goal tomorrow would see him pull level with the Italian. The midfield man has scored our first league goal of the season in 3 of the last 4 campaigns – last season’s 2-2 draw with St Johnstone, the opener in a 1-1 draw with Dunfermline in 2017/18 and the first of 5 in a 5-1 win against Stranraer in 2016/17. Scott Robinson, of course, scored our first goal of the 2018/19 season in a 3-1 defeat at Celtic Park.
Efe Ambrose and Marvin Bartley could both line-up against their former side tomorrow with Efe racking up 81 appearances between 2017 & 2019 and Marv appearing 118 times between 2015 & 2019.
