Partick Thistle match preview
This Saturday, we will travel to Partick Thistle in a 3rd vs 6th encounter. Both teams come into this game from different perspectives, we are coming off a hard-fought win against Airdrieonians whereas Patrick Thistle are coming off a defeat. We are aiming to keep our unbeaten start to the league season.
We have continued our strong start to the league season and have been in great form with four wins and one draw in our last five matches. We are coming into this one after a hard fought but exciting victory against Airdrie. It was a late Andrew Shinnie strike from outside the box which secured the three points. We now want to maintain our great start to the season but it will be a tough trip on the road against Partick Thistle.
Partick will be coming into this game off the back of a 1-0 loss against Hamilton and with 2 wins in their last 5. They have scored 6 in their last 5 matches but have also conceded 7 in that run.
The key man for us once again is Scott Pittman who grabbed an assist last weekends game and won our September Player of the Month Award. Stephen Kelly will be another key player for us in this game. He managed to grab his 2nd goal of the season against Airdrieonians, the attacking midfielder will be looking to add more numbers into his game.
In the last five meetings between the two sides, we have had the upper hand, with 2 wins, 1 draw and only 1 loss. The last encounter saw an impressive 3-2 win in the Scottish Cup earlier this year which saw us come from 2 goals down and it was Tete Yengi who popped up to grab an extra-time winner. We haven’t lost to Partick Thistle in the last 5 meetings, and we will be hoping to make it 6 on Sunday.
