Raith Rovers match preview
This Wednesday, we return to the Home of the Set Fare Arena, in a 2nd vs 6th encounter against Raith Rovers. Both teams come into this game from different perspectives after last week’s league action. We secured a hard fought away draw against Partick Thistle and Raith Rovers suffered a 4-0 home defeat to Queens Park.
We are coming off a 1-1 draw against Partick in the league, where a goal from Robbie Muirhead in the second half was only enough to snatch a draw despite our strong finish to the game.
Raith Rovers come into this game off the back of a home defeat, with 2 wins and 3 losses in their last five games. They have scored 5 goals in their last 5 games but have not scored in their last 2 matches. Despite this, they are still in the hunt for a play-off spot, so they’ll be a tough opposition for the lions.
A player who has been impressive for us is Robbie Muirhead who looks like he won’t stop scoring and creating. He will be looking to continue his great form and add some more goals to his tally. Another key player will be Stephen Kelly, who has recently returned from injury and managed to grab himself an assist for the goal at the weekend.
In the last five meetings between the two sides, we have the upper hand by winning 4 of the 5 games and suffering just 1 defeat. Our last game against Raith Rovers was a 2-1 away defeat for the Lions in the league. We will be looking to bounce back from that disappointing result.
