Raith Rovers U20 2-2 Livingston U20
A cruel late goal for Rovers denied Livi’s Development side all three points at Stark’s Park last night, but still leaves us top of the Development League East table.
Rovers started off confidently and took a deserved early lead after only 7 minutes when Chris Johnston’s solo run ended with him slotting past keeper Gary Maley.
The Lions absorbed heavy Rovers pressure following the goal, but on 33 minutes drew level when a Matthew Knox shot took a wicked deflection, wrong-footing Rovers keeper Conor Brenan as it rolled into the net.
Three minutes later Livi were awarded a penalty following a handball in the box, and Dale Carrick made no mistake from 12 yards to put the visitors ahead.
But with the game fast approaching full time, Rovers hit Livi with a late sucker punch when Ryan Stevenson prodded home the leveller with virtually the last kick of the match.
Livingston are not now back in action again till the 17 October when they host Stirling Albion on the Stadium Feildturf.
