Reece the next piece in the Lions squad.
We’re delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Reece McAlear on a pre-contract agreement from Tranmere Rovers, becoming our 8th new addition ahead of the 2024/25 season.
The 22-year-old came through the ranks at Motherwell before EFL side Norwich City bought the player from the Steelmen in 2019. Reece spent the 2021-22 season on-loan with Inverness before moving permanently to Tranmere Rovers in 2022
After making 19 appearances for the English League 2 side in the first half of the 2022-23 season, Reece returned north for the second half of the season on loan to Ayr United, where he helped the Honest Men to the Premiership play-offs.
Capped to Under 18 level for Scotland, Reece made a further 29 appearances in all competitions for Tranmere last season and now joins the Lions on an initial one-year-deal with an additional year if the club are promoted back to the Premiership at the end of the 2024/25 season.
