Sam Culbert commits to the Lions

We’re delighted to announce that academy graduate Sam Culbert has signed a new contract with the club, keeping him here until summer 2029.
A product of the Livingston youth academy, Sam has continued to progress through the ranks at the club, earning opportunities in and around the first-team environment through his hard work and development.
Still in the early stages of his career, Sam has gained valuable senior experience through a number of loan spells to date, allowing him to test himself in a competitive environment and further develop his game. These opportunities have played an important role in his growth, helping him build confidence, physicality and consistency at senior level.
His attitude and application have consistently impressed coaching staff, making him one of the bright prospects within the club’s development pathway.
Club Sporting Director David Martindale said: “Sam is a player we’re really pleased to keep at the club. He’s worked hard for his opportunities and has shown real progress over the last couple of seasons. He was one of the first batches of young players to come into the Academy when we relaunched it, and has continued to work through the age groups ever since.
“His loan spells in the last few seasons have been incredibly important for him, getting minutes in the men’s game alongside his spell at East Fife last season on a Cooperation Agreement, where he played a big part in helping them retain their place in League One.
“Sam now moves from being at the club on a somewhat youth-team developmental contract, to a first-team player and we’re looking forward to seeing how he continues to develop here at Livingston.
Everyone at the club congratulates Sam on his new contract and we look forward to supporting his continued development in a Livi shirt.
