Welcome Jérôme Prior!
We’re delighted to announce that goalkeeper Jérôme Prior has signed a pre-contract with the club and will join the Lions for pre-season in mid-June, subject to international clearance.
The 28-year-old French stopper joins the club having previously played for Girondins de Bordeaux, Valenciennes, FC Cartagena, PAS Giannina and most recently French Ligue 2 side, Pau FC.
Jérôme already has an appearance for the Lions having turned out for the club in a friendly during our mid-season camp in Turkey back in January. After injuries to Shamal George and Jack Hamilton, Jérôme stepped in between the sticks as a trialist in a game against SC Gjilani from Kosovo.
When those injuries to Shamal and Jack continued when the domestic season returned, the club were keen to bring Jérôme to Scotland then, but given the requirement for a work permit and GBE panel, it was decided a loan signing from the domestic market was a more practical option at that point in the season.
That dialogue with Jérôme continued into the year and manager David Martindale has moved to make the ‘keeper our sixth new addition of the summer.
Jérôme will wear the number 28 shirt and joins the club on an initial one-year-deal, with an automatic one-year extension if the Lions gain promotion back to the Premiership next Summer.
Welcome to West Lothian, Jérôme!
