Welcome, Michael Nottingham!
Livingston FC is delighted to this evening announce the signing of defender Michael Nottingham.
The 34-year-old central defender joins from English League 2 side Accrington Stanley, where he made over 100 appearances since joining the Reds in 2020.
Nottingham spent a large part of his early career in non-league football, including spells with Gresley, Solihull Moors and Salford City.
After his contract had ended with Salford in May 2018, he made the step up to the Football League to join Blackpool on a two-year deal.
The defender then moved to Crewe Alexandra on loan in January 2020, where he made 12 appearances before the season was cut short, with Crewe subsequently promoted to League One.
October 2020 seen Nottingham join Accrington Stanley, spending the last 3 seasons there, scoring 13 times in 108 appearances.
Standing at 6ft 4″ tall, Michael also has International football under his belt having represented Saint Kitts and Nevis twice in 2017.
Michael joins the club on a 1-year-deal and will wear the number 21 shirt for the 2023/24 campaign.
First-Team Manager David Martindale said: “I’m delighted to get Michael’s signature as I know he had a few options in League 1 and 2 in England.
“He is a player with around 130+ appearances in English League 1 and will bring a wealth of experience to the group.
“He can play a variety of positions, predominantly in the defensive areas – centre defence, right back and right-wing back and has also played defensive centre midfield.
“I felt at times last season we were a bit vulnerable away from home at set plays and conceded far too many goals on the road in open play and set plays. Michael will definitely help us to improve on this.
“His competitive nature, desire to defend and undoubted experience will be a huge benefit to the group and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Welcome to the club, Michael!
