Airdrie Match Preview
This Saturday, we will host Airdrieonians at the Home of the Seat Arena in a 3rd vs 10th encounter. Both teams come into this game from different perspectives, we are coming off a solid 3-0 win against Hamilton and will be aiming to maintain our unbeaten start to the season.
On the other hand, Airdrie are coming off a 2-0 defeat to Greenock Morton, with only 1 win in their last 5 matches but they will be hoping to bounce back tomorrow to end that drought.
The key man for us once again will be Scott Pittman who grabbed another goal in our last game. Robbie Muirhead will be another key player for us in this game, netting in 2 goals after coming on as a substitute in our game against Hamilton and he will be hoping to add more goals to his tally.
There are a few familiar faces who have played for both clubs in recent years including Dale Carrick who signed for us in 2016, scoring 6 goals during his 2 seasons in West Lothian. Then transferred to Airdrieonians in January 2018 where he played until May 2021. Another notable player between the sides is Alan Lithgow. The defender played at Airdrie for one season before transferring to us in 2016. Lithgow played a key role in our promotion to the Scottish Premiership in the 2016-2017 and 2017- 2018 seasons.
In the last five meetings between the two sides, we have the upper hand, winning all 5. The last encounter saw a thrilling 4-1 win in the League Cup in 2020. It will be the first time the sides have played each other in the league since a 4-2 win for Livingston in 2017. We haven’t lost to Airdrieonians in the last 12 meetings, so we will be hoping to make it 13 tomorrow..
