Alexander takes the high road
Livingston FC can tonight announce that veteran goalkeeper Neil Alexander has called time on his playing career and has left the club to take up a coaching role with Championship side Dundee United.
Neil was a virtual ever-present in our Championship campaign and played a massive role in helping to steer us back to the Premiership. His penalty save in the second-leg of the play-off final all but secured our promotion and was a moment that no Livingston fan will ever forget.
Having joined the club as a 20 year old in his first spell, it has certainly come full circle as Neil ends his playing career with us 20 years later – and with a clean sheet of course!
We’re delighted that Neil was able to bow out in such terrific fashion and it goes without saying that everyone connected with Livingston FC wishes him all the very best for his future coaching career.
Good luck Neilly!
