Disabled supporters information for Firhill
We have been provided with the following information for all disabled supporters going to Firhill for tomorrow’s game with Partick Thistle.
There are three car parking spaces reserved for away disabled fans in The McCafferty House car park which is situated on Firhill Road between the stadium and the junction of Firhill Road and Garscube Road.
The names of anyone wishing to use these spaces should be given to Livingston FC who will then forward on to Partick Thistle. It is recommended that any users of these spaces should be parked at least half an hour before kick off. Sometimes Firhill Road is closed to vehicular traffic before and after matches for ten/fifteen minutes and given the likelihood of a bigger crowd than normal it is recommended that fans get along as early as possible.
Limited car parking is available in the streets around Firhill. Many of these are actually closer to the Disabled Entrance than the spaces in The McCafferty House car park and many away fans prefer to park here. These spaces fill up quickly as kick off time approaches.
There are also space behind the stadium between the Jackie Husband Stand and the canal where a lot of fans park. These spaces also fill up quickly on matchday and there is also quite a steep hill to negotiate when going round to the accessible Disabled Entrance. The spaces here can be accessed from the north end of Firhill Road and can be reached if joining Firhill Road from Northpark Street/Murano Street/Panmure Street.
Panmure Street is where supporters’ coaches normally park. The area between the Jackie Husband Stand and the canal is not an official club car park, the land is owned by Scottish Canals. Parking is at the owner’s own risk but a lot of fans park here trouble free.
The Aitken Suite will be open on Sunday and is located under the Main Stand (Colin Weir Stand) where the Livingston fans will be located. It is a child friendly bar and away fans are welcome. Wheelchair users can access the Aitken Suite by the Disabled Entrance on Firhill Road and by a ramp at the side of the Main Stand. The steward on duty at the Aitken Suite entrance can give assistance.
