Dunfermline match preview
This weekend, we are back at home after a week off as we face Dunfermline Athletic at the Home of the Set Arena. Both teams are coming into this game after losses. We are coming off a 2-0 loss, and the visitors are coming off a 2-1 loss in the League Cup. We want to bounce back from our defeat and put on strong performance at home. With just a couple games in, we aim to stay at the top end of the table.
During our 2-0 loss to Partick Thistle, we conceded very early on in the 4th minute of the match when Crawford’s shot from the center of the box was slotted in. The home side dominated the first half and cemented that with a second just before half time got in 2-0 ahead. The second half was a little bit more competitive, with a few shots from us, however, we failed to take those chances, and all 3 points stayed in Glasgow. We have scored 11 goals and only conceded 3 in our last 5 games. We look to get back to winning ways, especially in front of our fans and grab 3 points this weekend.
Dunfermline Athletic is coming off a 2-1 League Cup loss against Ross County. Most of the action came within the second half of the game as the visitors took the lead in the 58th minute, giving the hosts a bit of work to do. Patience paid off as Oyirwoth equalised with 13 minutes to go. Both teams were going for it, however, it was the Highland side that got the late winner in the 86th minute, sending the Scottish Cup runners-up out of the League Cup. They have scored 9 in their last 5 matches and have conceded 3. The visitors are looking to bounce back after their cup exit and continue their league season and jump us in the table.
The key players to look out for this match will be Bradly Van Hoeven, who came on at half-time last time out and looked like a bright spark, with his pace and his creativity he will cause problems for the opposition defense. Another one to look out for is Brooklyn Kabongolo, who signed a contract extension during the week and will remain a crucial part of our defence.
In the last 5 matches between the sides, it’s split with 2 wins each and 1 draw. The last game resulted in a 1-0 win for the visitors back in April 2025. However, our last win against them was a 2-0 win back in February 2025, So, we will be looking to repeat that against the visitors, overcome our last result, put on a performance and grab a positive result.
