Hibernian 2-3 Livingston
It was a big 3 points for the Lions as they visited the capital for the first time this season to take on Hibernian.
It was Livingston who started brightest with an early corner kick which was easily cleared bu the deadlock was broken through soon after this by Scott Pittman. It was very good play on half way by Nouble who played in Penrice who smashed one across the box into the area of uncertainty which Pittman turned home from 6 yards under pressure from the hosts defence for 1-0 to Livingston!
Hibernian had a lot of possession but a lot of it was side to side or breaking down through their most dangerous players due to some good defensive play from Livingston with De Lucas, Obileye and Devlin who managed to thwart every first half attack.
It was quite a feisty encounter with 4 people going in to Craig Napier’s book with Kurtis Guthrie, Jamie Brandon, Joe Newell and Christian Doidge but Livingston seen the half out and went into the break with a single goal lead in Edinburgh.
Into the second half and the game was fast, frantic and full of passion. Hibs levelled the game through Martin Boyle as he cut in from the right hand after a side across the box and crashed a strike in to the net off the underside of the bar to bring it back to 1-1.
Livingston regained their lead only 2 minutes later though through substitute Bruce Anderson. The same linkup for the first goal happened again as Nouble slipped in Penrice to the byline who clipped on to the back post for Anderson to head home from a few yards at the back post. Hibs 1-2 Livingston.
It was on the 75th minute when Livingston increased their lead as again Nouble ewas heavily involved playing a great long pass to Sangare who made a lung bursting run from deep, got the better of Will Fish and smashed the ball beyond Max Boruc from 25 yards into the corner of the net with an early claim for a goal of the season hit. Hibs 1-3 Livingston.
Nouble nearly got the goal he deserved with some dogged work in the middle of the pitch, he passed to Anderson who played wide for Shinnie who slipped in Joel but he couldn’t beat Max Boruc and Livingston got a corner after some very good play.
Hibs got another goal back for 3-2 after Newell cut in from the right hand side, fired one into the box which was spilled by Shamal George and it fell to Josh Campbell who knocked it home for 3-2 Livingston after 85 minutes.
Livingston collect a massive 3 points in the capital as they managed to see the game out against Hibernian who remain pointless at the bottom of the cinch Premiership.
