It was a fourth defeat of the season for the Lions as a late header from Kyle Munro meant all three points left the Tony Macaroni Arena, much to the delight of Brian Rice and his Hamilton Accies side.

The last time we played host to Hamilton here in Livingston, the game finished 0-0 – however, that certainly wasn’t going to be the case this time round after Scott Pittman bagged his second goal of the season within 40 first-half seconds.

Recent signing Lars Lokotsch crossed low from the left after some neat build up play between Julien Serrano and Alan Forrest and Pittman was on hand at the front post to divert the ball into the net via a wicked deflection from Accies skipper Shaun Want.

The goal certainly ignited a frantic passage of play, and Hamilton almost levelled with a David Templeton free-kick which flashed just wide before Efe Ambrose’s unorthodox pass-back almost caught out Robby McCrorie, with the stopper managing to recover the situation and block at the feet of Moyo.

However, Gary Holt would have been frustrated his side did not go into the break with an increased advantage as Alan Forrest’s curling effort from the left was saved by Fulton and Marvin Bartley could only direct a header straight at the goalkeeper from close range.

The second half lacked many clear-cut chances until Templeton levelled just before the hour mark. A corner into the box was met by former Livingston man Hakeem Odoffin who crashed a header off the bar and the rebound fell kindly for the 31-year-old to fire beyond McCrorie from close range.

Both sides went close to taking the lead as Templeton curled a left-footed effort just wide of the post before Pittman nearly doubled his tally, smashing the ball against the underside of the bar after some neat work from Scott Tiffoney and Scott Robinson.

But, despite Livingston looking more likely to retake the lead, it was the away side who snatched victory as youngster Munro bulleted home a stunning header at the back from a Templeton free-kick to secure three points.

A disappointing result for the Lions who were looking to kick on from the victory over Ross County. It wasn’t to be and next up, a trip to Celtic Park to take on the Champions.
