A much-improved performance from Livingston ended in a narrow defeat as Boroughmuir Thistle took away a 1-0 win at the Home of the Set Fare Arena. A late Becky Galbraith goal was the difference as Livingston continued to search for a first win of 2025.

Livingston made three changes from the defeat to Gartcairn with Jess Murphy, Elise Macara, and Mya Goodman coming in to replace Summer Laird, Mia McArthur, and Ellie Osborne.

A couple of early corners from Livingston brought danger but ultimately came to nothing. Cailin Michie proved to be a threat early on, fluffing her shot on one occasion before stinging the palms of Rachel Pirie with her next attempt.

Rachel Walkingshaw and Ashley Elizabeth tried efforts from range but were unable to trouble Natalie Angelini in the Boroughmuir goal. The best chance of the first half would fall to Livingston, though, as Erin Burns was sent through on goal. In a one on one position, the winger was unable to find the target on the stroke of half time.

A corner kick after half time seen Angelini make a good save to drag a header off the line before Boroughmuir cleared well. Holly Aitchison went close at the other end, with her effort landing on the roof of the net.

The deadlock was eventually broken in the 84th minute, as Becky Galbraith caught Pirie off her line. A quick transition saw Galbraith presented with an opportunity to lob Pirie from 35 yards, with the striker finishing well to give the away side the lead.

Galbraith went close to gaining a second as she was found free in the penalty box, but a vital block from Murphy denied the forward a double.

A tiring Livingston side were unable to carve any further opportunities despite their best efforts, and fell to a narrow loss late on.
