Livingston WFC 3-1 Glasgow WFC
Three goals were enough for Livingston’s Women to pick up all three points against Glasgow Women. Goals from Ashley Elizabeth, Lucy Watt and Anna Dickov sealed the victory in a comfortable afternoon at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
The Lionesses were back in action after two weeks away, with 8 changes being made since the last outing against Kilmarnock.
A slow start to the match kicked into gear as Lucy Watt cracked the crossbar with a half volley, before the away side came into things. A great move down the left saw forward Elisha Duff seemingly have a tap in, but her effort would go wide and squander a glorious opportunity.
The away side came to rue their missed chance as Ashley Elizabeth evaded an offside trap to open the scoring. Beth McKay would play a great through ball in which Elizabeth would delightfully dink over the oncoming goalkeeper Khym Ramsay, with the ball clipping the post on its way into the back of the net.
Lucy Watt made it two before the break, with great credit being owed to Courtney McAvoy. The midfielder skipped beyond a few Glasgow players before working the ball into the box, eventually falling to Watt whose volley beat Ramsay on the stroke of half time.
A third goal came shortly after half time, this time through Anna Dickov. Some good play from Livi saw a goal kick worked up to Ashley Elizabeth, who played in Dickov who showed great composure to round the keeper and make it 3-0.
From there on, it was a comfortable showing for Livingston, but there was potential for a late comeback as Glasgow received a penalty ten minutes from time. Kayleigh Barghati would step up and fire past Schenai Gamrot, despite the Livi keeper getting a hand to the ball.
Substitute Shannon Todd will be disappointed to have not made the scoresheet, hitting the bar from close range following a great cross from Anna Dickov.
It would only be the three goals for Livingston in a comfortable showing that sees us back to winning ways. Livingston are next in action on the 19th of November, when they host St Johnstone.
