Loan Report
Here’s a look back at how our loanees got on across the weekend.
Joel Nouble
It was yet another superb performance from Joel Nouble as he caused Dunfermline all sorts of problems as Arbroath ran out emphatic 3-0 winners at East End Park. The big striker was a handful all game and despite not scoring himself, set up former-Lion Michael McKenna for Arbroath’s third goal to seal the win.
Harrison Clark was an unused substitute for the Red Lichties after returning from injury.
Matej Poplatnik
Matej wasn’t in action again this weekend as the Raith Rovers game away to Ayr United was postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak amongst the Somerset Park side.
Brian Schwake
More Friday night delight for young ‘keeper Brian Schwake as he helped himself to another clean sheet as the Citizens recorded a fine 2-0 win at home to Elgin City. Both goals were scored inside the opening 7 minutes and would prove enough to move the capital side into the top half of League 2.
Josh Mullin
A huge result for Josh and Hamilton yesterday as Accies won 2-1 away to Queen of the South to move off the foot of the table, with the winger playing the full 90 minutes. Andy Ryan had Hamilton ahead just after the break but Queens equalised shortly after. Andy Ryan would turn provider for Lewis Smith though as Accies recorded their first win in the Championship and moved up to 5th place.
Carlo Pignatiello
Carlo returned from injury and straight into the starting line-up where he played 90 minutes as the Sons picked up an impressive 2-1 win away to Montrose who were top of the league going into the game. Dumbarton were 2-0 up after half an hour and despite a late penalty for Montrose, Carlo and his teammates held on to move up to 5th, tied with Cove in the play-off places.
