Men’s Team & Women’s Team Unite for club kit launch
In a somewhat historic moment for the club, players from our men’s and women’s team united to launch our new match kits for the 2021/22 campaign.
With Daniel Barden and Max Stryjek modelling both new goalkeeper kits and Bruce Anderson and Nicky Devlin sporting the all black home kit, Jack Fitzwater and Adam Lewis were joined by Vicky Wood and Natasha Frew from our women’s team to help unveil our new white away kit.
Both players joined in with the various shoots across different areas in the stadium, with all the players involved enjoying the chance to play around with a second camera, getting some playful shots amongst themselves.
We were delighted to welcome Vicky and Natasha along for the launch photos and look forward to working more closely with the women’s section as restrictions ease and interaction becomes easier.
Vicky is the captain of our women’s side, having joined the club in 2017 after spells with Murieston United and Falkirk.
The forward said: “I have been involved in the game for such a long time and it’s fantastic to now finally see the growth in the women’s game.
“Being invited to, and involved in the kit launch was a real privilege. The men’s team players and staff were both professional and welcoming and I feel privileged and thankful for the opportunity. I look forward to the rest of our team being given the chance to experience similar situations in the future.
The new kit is absolutely stunning – both home and away. I love the colours, the design, and the feel of the kit. I’ve been looking forward to today’s launch so I can share this with the team, and even more so, I look forward to us being able to wear the new kit on match days.”
Vicky was joined by teammate Natasha Frew, a defender who has been with the club for a number of years, with brief spells at Rangers and Glasgow Girls too.
Natasha said: “I’m thankful for the opportunity to have been asked to join in alongside the first team for the launch of the new kit.
“It’s a real step forward for the women’s team to be involved. Sadly, due to COVID, we’ve not been able to be as involved as we’d have liked so far but I’m sure there will be plenty more opportunities in the near future.
“I’ve been really looking forward to seeing the reveal of the new kit today.”
Livingston Women’s Secretary Nigel Thorpe attended the launch with Vicky and Natasha and was impressed with the new kits too.
He commented: “Firstly, we need to thank Dave Black for inviting our players along, it was greatly appreciated, and many thanks to the other staff and players at Livingston FC for the kind welcome they gave to the players for the photoshoot. This clearly demonstrates the togetherness within the whole club and we look forward to working with them all throughout the up and coming season and beyond.
“Having the women players involved can only provide positives for the club and the women’s game going forward.
“The strips look fantastic, great quality from Joma and fantastic service from The Soccer Shop:Direct and I’m sure the supporters of Livingston FC and Livingston WFC will be delighted with both the designs and the quality. We look forward to using the kits for the up and coming season!”
