The Lionesses picked up their first victory of 2025, with a 2-1 away win at St Johnstone. Second-half goals by Kaitlyn Canavan and Ashley Elizabeth secured a hard-fought three points.

Schenai Gamrot received a first start this season in goal, with Eliie Osborne returning to the starting XI after a brief injury.

A dull first half saw Livingston look to get in behind the Saints defence but were halted by the offside flag on several occasions.

The Saints went close with a couple of crosses going across the face of the goal, but nobody was there to finish into an empty net.

The second half exploded into life, however, with a re-energised Livi side coming out of the traps quick to hit a quick double.

A good passage of play by Livi saw the ball fall to Kaitlyn Canavan just outside the box. The forward made no mistake, quickly getting the ball out of her feet and finding the bottom corner in the 51st minute.

Straight after, the Lionesses made it two in spectacular fashion. Elizabeth picked the ball up outside the box before unleashing a fantastic curling effort into the top corner to give Livi some breathing space.

St Johnstone responded well, going close only minutes after the Livi double. Vital defending by Livi cleared the danger, with a heroic goalline clearance from Osborne denying Saints a goal back instantly.

Erin Burns was proving to be a threat from the right-hand side, going close on a couple of occasions. A long-range effort was tipped wide before the winger struck the post with a great effort.

The game became very scrappy as it neared the end, with the referee brought into action to caution several players and members of the Saints bench.

The home side were able to pull a goal back in the 94th minute, with a well-taken strike by Jodie Malcolm. However, it wouldn’t be enough as Livingston saw the result out in the end.
