This weekend, we are back at home as we face Stenhousemuir at the Home of the Set Arena.  Both teams are coming into this game from different perspectives. We are coming off a 1-0 loss, and the visitors are coming off a 3-1 win.

We look to bounce back from last weekend’s performance and start getting those wins and positive results again. With the hosts sitting top of the league, this one on paper looks like a tasty Friday night game under the lights.

Last weekend saw us lose 1-0 against Arbroath. There was an early chance for the hosts in the first minute as we got caught at the back, however Stewart’s shot went wide. We had some chances early through Pittman and Muirhead, but we failed to take them. Just before half-time, we were reduced to 10 men as MacPherson was off for denying a goal-scoring opportunity. Things went from bad to worse in the 47th minute when a penalty was given to the home side with Reilly stepping up to score.

The home side were reduced to 10 men as well, with Costable sent off for a second yellow. There were not many clear-cut chances for us to equalise so we left without any points. We have scored 4 goals and have conceded 3 in our last 5 games. We look to turn things around after last weekend and get a positive result at home in front of the fans.

Stenhousemuir is coming off a 3-1 home win against Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Their management team consists of our former player and manager, Marvin Bartley and former assistant coach, Neil Hastings. Our visitors currently sit top of the league are they are unbeaten so far this season. They have scored 9 in their last 5 matches and have conceded 2. They will be coming to the home of the Set Fare Arena full of confidence and will look to maintain their place at the top of the league.

One of the key players to look out for in this match will be Robbie Muirhead who is up for the clubs Player of the Month award. He managed to find the back of the net last time at home and will be a threat to any team in this league. Another who has impressed is Emmanuel Danso who likes to get on the ball and dictate the play.

In our last 5 games against the opponents, we have the upper hand by winning 4 and drawing 1. That draw was the most recent result, taking place in this seasons League Cup group stage. The last win for us came back in January 2023, with us winning 3-1 that day. So, we will be looking to do the same at home and put on a performance.
