Stuart Garden appointed First-Team Goalkeeper Coach & Head of Academy Goalkeeping
Livingston FC is pleased to announce Stuart Garden as our new first-team Goalkeeping Coach and Head of Academy Goalkeeping.
The 49-year-old joins the club from League 2 champions Queens Park and will combine first-team goalkeeper coach duties alongside heading up the goalkeeper side of our new academy.
Stuart’s playing career saw him play for Dundee North End, Dundee United, Brechin City, Forfar Athletic and Notts County before retiring at Ross County in 2006.
From then, Stuart went on to be a goalkeeper coach at Montrose, before becoming Assistant Manager to Ray Farningham and then took on the manager job himself at Links Park.
Stuart left Montrose at the end of the 2013-14 season before joining Gary Bollan as Goalkeeper Coach at Airdrie the following season. After a season with Airdrie, Stuart re-joined Dundee United in the same role, working under Ray McKinnon, Csaba László and Mixu Paatelainen before linking up with McKinnon again last season with the Spiders.
After clinching the League 2 title with Queens Park last season, Stuart will now join the club ahead of our 2021/22 campaign.
Welcome to Livingston, Stuart!
Manager David Martindale said: “I’m extremely pleased to announce Stuart Garden as our new first-team Goalkeeper Coach and Head of Academy Goalkeeping.
“He comes very highly recommended from people within the game who I trust implicitly.
“I have met with Stuart on a number of occasions now and get on very well with him and believe he’ll slot in to the current group of coaching staff seamlessly.
“I’m really delighted to welcome Stuart to Livingston FC.”
