There’s a new pair of gloves in town
We’re pleased to confirm the signing of goalkeeper Ross Stewart on a two year deal as the Number 2 to Liam Kelly.
Goalkeeping coach Tony Caig said “I’m delighted that we were able to attract someone of Ross’ calibre to Livingston FC. He had numerous opportunities to go on loan from St Mirren but chose a transfer to Livingston instead.
“We now have 2 of the best young keepers in Scotland and I think they will compliment one another well; both will put demands on the other and that can only improve them individually.
“It’s easy to go down the road of having a more experienced keeper as a number 2, who maybe doesn’t have the hunger or desire of a younger counterpart and would accept a place on the bench every week.
“But on a personal note it will be fantastic working with 2 young, bright and talented lads who are eager to develop and get better.
“They both fit into the ethos at the club in which we try to attract lads who have plenty league experience but are a good age and possess the skill set to progress to bigger things.”
