Ayr Utd match preview
This Saturday, we will be travelling to Somerset Park to face Ayr United in a 2nd vs 3rd encounter. Both teams come into this game off the back of draws in the last league games. We will be aiming to maintain our good away form and look to overtake the hosts by grabbing 3 points.
We have been on a good run of form of late winning 4 out of our last 5 games and have managed to overcome some tough opponents. This weekend we are back on the road looking to grab a vital 3 points and close the gap to the top of the table.
Ayr United are coming into this game after a 2-2 away draw with league leaders Falkirk. In their last 5 league matches they have picked up 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. They have scored 14 goals in their last 5 games and have kept the highest number of clean sheets in the Championship.
One key man for us for this game will be Jerome Prior, with keeping 4 clean sheets in his last 5 games. He will be looking to get another clean sheet and stop the hosts continue their goal scoring run. Robbie Fraser will be another key player for us in this game, becoming a fan favourite, he will be looking to keep up his impressive form and his defense and attacking abilities will be critical in grabbing the win this weekend.
In the last five meetings between the two sides, Livingston have had the upper hand winning 4 of the 5 games. The last encounter, however, saw a 1-0 home defeat for the Lions in the league back in December. The last encounter at Sommerset Park saw us take all 3 points with goals from Robbie Muirhead and Scott Pittman. We are currently ranked 3rd in the most points picked up away from home, while Ayr United currently 2nd in home form. It will be a tricky test, but we will be looking to put in a strong performance and hopefully come away with a win.
